Zenshu follows Natsuko Hirose, a young animator who throws herself into the industry immediately after graduating from high school. Her rise is so rapid that she soon makes her debut as a director, and her first anime becomes a massive hit, turning into a social phenomenon and earning her a reputation as an up-and-coming genius director. After that success, she is given a new assignment: a romantic comedy movie centered on the theme of first love.
The project quickly becomes a crisis. Natsuko has never been in love herself, so she cannot fully understand the feeling she is supposed to capture in a storyboard, and production comes to a standstill. As she struggles at her desk, she suddenly loses consciousness and wakes up inside the world of her favorite childhood anime movie, A Tale of Perishing. Trapped in a setting she knows by heart yet cannot control, Natsuko is forced to confront the story she once adored from the inside. What begins as a bizarre escape becomes a test of her craft, her memories, and everything that brought her to this point.
