In Yuusha no Kuzu, mid-21st century Tokyo is ruled from the shadows by Demon Lords, crime bosses who have transformed themselves through ether enhancement surgery into beings with terrifying powers. Opposing them are the Heroes: bounty hunters who push their own ether abilities further with the drug E3 (E-Three). In a world where legalized killing is part of the job, survival matters more than glory, and every contract can turn into a massacre.
Among the most feared figures in that underworld is Yashiro, the Reaper, an independent enforcer who works alone and accepts dangerous jobs on his own terms. His isolated routine changes when Jougamine, a high school girl who insists on being his apprentice, forces her way into his life and refuses to back off. What begins as an unwanted partnership soon drags Yashiro into conflicts with rival Demon Lords, violent turf wars, and the unstable politics of ether-powered crime.
As their connection deepens, Yashiro is forced to confront not only the enemies closing in around him, but also the consequences of teaching someone who has no intention of staying out of the fight.
