Ushio to Tora

Ushio to Tora follows Ushio Aotsuki, a stubborn middle school student and the son of an eccentric temple priest who treats stories about youkai as little more than superstition. While tending the family temple in his father's absence, Ushio discovers a terrifying youkai pinned in the basement by the legendary Beast Spear. The creature is Tora, a notorious monster whose destructive power has made him a name even among the supernatural, and he immediately demands to be freed from the seal that has held him down for five hundred years. Ushio refuses to trust him, but a sudden outbreak of youkai threatens his friends and home, forcing him into an uneasy alliance with the very creature he meant to keep imprisoned. With the Beast Spear in his hands, Ushio and Tora begin an unlikely partnership that pulls them deeper into the spiritual realm, where every encounter forces them to confront the real danger lurking behind the supernatural world. As the two continue to clash and cooperate, their bond becomes the center of a struggle that is as much about survival as it is about learning how to stand together. The series follows their uneasy partnership as they face hostile spirits, protect the world they know, and wrestle with the fact that the monster Ushio distrusts may also be the ally he needs most.
