Toradora! follows Ryuuji Takasu, a gentle high school boy who loves housework but is constantly mistaken for a delinquent because of his intimidating face. At the same school, he meets Taiga Aisaka, a tiny, sharp-tongued classmate known as the “Palmtop Tiger” and feared for the wooden katana she carries and her explosive temper. Despite their very different reputations, both of them are far more vulnerable than they first appear.
After an embarrassing misunderstanding brings them together, Ryuuji learns that Taiga has a crush on the popular vice president Yuusaku Kitamura, who is also Ryuuji’s best friend. Taiga soon discovers that Ryuuji is in love with Minori Kushieda, her own best friend. With that mutual secret in hand, the two strike an uneasy alliance and begin helping each other pursue the people they like.
As their plan unfolds, Toradora! blends romantic comedy, awkward school life, and emotional growing pains. What begins as a simple arrangement slowly turns into a closer bond, as Ryuuji and Taiga navigate jealousy, pride, misunderstandings, and the complicated line between friendship and love.
