To LOVE-Ru

In To LOVE-Ru, timid 16-year-old Rito Yuuki still cannot find the courage to confess his feelings to Haruna Sairenji, the classmate he has admired since junior high. His already awkward life is thrown into disarray one night when a mysterious, stark-naked girl crash-lands right on top of him while he is bathing. She is Lala Satalin Deviluke, the crown princess of an alien empire who has run away from home to escape an unwanted political marriage. Instead of returning quietly, Lala decides that Rito is the one she wants to marry, binding an ordinary boy to the heiress of one of the most powerful forces in the galaxy. That accident sets the tone for the wider franchise, where every attempt Rito makes to confess to Haruna is derailed by misunderstandings, accidental encounters, escalating chaos, wild romantic tension, and outlandishly lewd gags that seem to bend the laws of physics. As Lala settles into his world, the cast around Rito keeps expanding to include his sister Mikan Yuuki, Lala's living invention Peke, the royal swordsman Zastin, the unpredictable Run Elsie Jewelria, and the deadly Konjiki no Yami. What begins as a single absurd proposal grows into a crowded sci-fi romantic comedy in which alien royalty, assassins, and school crushes collide around Rito's hopelessly complicated love life.
