THYME was a Japanese J-pop and pop rock group formed in July 2004. It began as the solo project of Sayaka Kamiyama (神山さやか), who started collaborating with Teppei Shimizu (清水哲平) that month. The name THYME was announced on June 13, 2005. On December 21, 2005, the project became the musical unit THYME when Shimizu joined officially. Takafumi Hoshino (星野孝文) joined in July 2006, establishing the three-member band associated with NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan LLC.
THYME made its major debut with the single "Hello" on September 5, 2007. The second single, "forever we can make it!", followed on April 23, 2008 and was used as the opening theme for To LOVE-Ru, bringing the group to a wider anime audience. Later that year, THYME released "Fly Away" on August 6, 2008, the first album "first 9uality" on September 3, 2008, and the single "愛する人" on December 3, 2008. After leaving its agency in February 2010, THYME announced the end of the band's activities on September 23, 2010, and vocalist thyme resumed solo work.
