Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai follows the uneasy bond between siblings Kyousuke Kousaka and Kirino Kousaka. Outwardly, Kirino is accomplished, strong-willed, and fiercely independent, but she is also a diehard otaku whose secret hobbies keep colliding with her everyday life. Once Kyousuke becomes involved in protecting that side of her, he is constantly drawn into the chaos around her, from family friction to awkward negotiations with the friends who share her interests. Ruri "Kuroneko" Gokou, a junior at Kyousuke's school and one of Kirino's friends, becomes one of the central figures around them, alongside people such as Manami Tamura, Saori Makishima, and Ayase Aragaki. As the franchise develops, Kirino returns to Japan and settles back in with her friends and family after track and field training in America, yet she continues to give Kyousuke the cold shoulder. That leaves him frustrated and worried that his earlier efforts to persuade her to drop that training and come back home may have damaged their relationship. At the same time, Kyousuke tries to decode a bold and cryptic message from Kuroneko while the ties between the siblings and the people around them grow more complicated. Kirino and Kyousuke are forced to confront what those relationships really mean and decide how they want to handle them, helping each other recognize their own feelings along the way. Even then, Kirino still finds time to indulge her otaku interests in Kyousuke's company, keeping their complicated bond at the center of a story built on comedy, awkward family tension, and otaku culture.
