Kamisama no Memochou centers on Narumi Fujishima, a pessimistic high school student who has spent his life moving from school to school because of his father's job and has never learned how to settle in. When his cheerful classmate Ayaka Shinozaki drags him into the gardening club, Narumi is pulled into a stranger corner of the city: the room above Hanamaru, the ramen shop where Ayaka works part-time, and the secluded base of Alice, a brilliant hacker who rarely leaves home.
Alice runs a private detective agency made up of self-styled NEETs—people who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training—who solve hard cases with deduction, hacking, surveillance, and quick improvisation. What begins as an accidental introduction soon becomes a string of investigations tied to crime, secrecy, and people who prefer to stay hidden. As the stakes rise, Narumi is drawn closer to Alice's odd but close-knit circle and to the criminal syndicate that seems to have mysterious ties to her. The series balances mystery and tension with quiet emotional distance, following Narumi as he learns to trust others and discovers how a group of outsiders can become a family.
