God Eater is set in the Far East in 2071, when humanity has been pushed to the brink of extinction by man-eating monsters called Aragami. Born from Oracle cells and immune to conventional weaponry, these creatures have ravaged the land, consumed almost everything in their path, and left the remnants of civilization struggling to survive the night. As a last-ditch effort to save humanity, the organization Fenrir created the God Eaters—special humans infused with Oracle cells who can wield God Arcs, the only known weapons capable of killing an Aragami.
One such God Eater is Lenka Utsugi, a New-Type whose God Arc takes the form of both blade and gun. Fighting alongside Fenrir soldiers such as Alisa Ilichina Amiella, Lenka becomes one of the organization's greatest weapons, but he must master his God Arc if he is to fulfill his desire of wiping out the Aragami once and for all. As the monsters continue to be born en masse and urban civilization remains on the edge of collapse, only the God Eaters stand between the Aragami and the complete annihilation of the human race.
