Inferno (インフェルノ)

Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “Inferno (インフェルノ)” is the first opening theme of Enen no Shouboutai (Fire Force). The anime announced the song in June 2019 ahead of the series premiere. Bright guitars, fast drums, and a vocal line that repeatedly climbs in intensity give the track its momentum. Fire is more than a title or visual motif: the lyrics contrast a life that will eventually burn out with the need to find meaning while it is still alight. That idea fits Shinra Kusakabe and Company 8, special firefighters who confront human combustion while investigating its cause. The wide, direct chorus turns the fear of disappearing into a reason to keep moving. “Inferno” therefore introduces both levels of Fire Force—the explosive action visible on the surface and the underlying story about mortality, purpose, grief, and the bonds people create in limited time.
