YES

YES is an English rock band formed in 1968 by bassist Chris Squire and singer Jon Anderson. Best known for elaborate musicianship and ambitious song structures, the group helped define progressive rock with a sound that blends art rock, symphonic elements, and intricate instrumental passages. Its lyrics often draw on mystical and cosmic imagery, reinforcing the scale and atmosphere of the music. During the 1970s, YES became one of the most successful progressive rock acts of its era. Nine of its 21 studio albums reached the top ten in the UK or US, and two of those albums reached number one in the UK. That balance of critical prestige and commercial success helped establish the band as a major reference point for later prog and art rock artists.
