WEAVER

WEAVER (ウィーバー) is a Japanese j-rock and piano rock band from Hyogo Prefecture. It was formed in April 2004 by four classmates at Kobe High School and, in its early days, played as a twin-guitar band. In 2006 it took a break while everyone except Yuji Sugimoto prepared for university entrance exams. Activity resumed in April 2007. In November of that same year, WEAVER reorganized as a three-member piano rock band, establishing its current lineup: Shota Okuno (bass and backing vocals), born 1988.8.18; Yuji Sugimoto (piano and lead vocals), born 1988.12.3; and Tooru Kawabe (drums and backing vocals), born 1988.6.28. In its early years, WEAVER performed mainly at the live house VARIT in Kobe. There it built its piano-centered arrangements and a live sound shaped by Kobe's local scene. In 2009, the band made its major debut with the digital single "白朝夢"; it later released the mini album Tapestry and records for A-Sketch under Amuse. In anime, WEAVER performed "Kuchizuke Diamond (くちづけDiamond)" for Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo and "Dakara Boku wa Boku wo Tebanasu (だから僕は僕を手放す)" for Sakurada Reset.
