vistlip is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed on July 7, 2007. The group brought together vocalist Tomo from Fukuoka, Tokyo-born guitarists Yuh and Umi, bassist Rui from Hyogo, and drummer Tohya from Kanagawa. Umi also contributes rap vocals and was instrumental in bringing the band together, helping shape the lineup that would define vistlip’s early identity.
Built around a polished visual kei image and a melodic rock approach, vistlip developed a sound that balances sharp guitar work, dramatic arrangements, and catchy vocal hooks. That combination has helped the band stand out within Japan’s rock scene, where style and musicianship often carry equal weight.
Since their debut, vistlip have continued to evolve while keeping a recognizable core: theatrical presentation, tight performance chemistry, and songs that move between intensity and accessibility. Their catalog reflects a band capable of shifting between heavy riffs, emotional melodies, and rap-inflected passages without losing its identity.
