UNDER17

UNDER17 (アンダーセブンティーン) was a Japanese j-pop duo formed in 2002 by Momoi Haruko and Koike Masaya. Centered on upbeat songs for anime, video games, and adult PC games, the group’s style was shaped in large part by Momoi Haruko’s vocals and lyrics. UNDER17 began full-scale activity in 2002 and built its presence through live appearances and game-related events. During its active years, the duo contributed songs to DearS, Tenbatsu Angel Rabbie, Mouse, and Popotan. It also performed "Kujibiki Unbalance (くじびきアンバランス)," the opening theme used in Genshiken, and recorded opening songs for adult video games. Its recognition grew in January 2003, when a theme song was used as the opening for the TV anime Mouse. Later that year, UNDER17 held its first solo concert at CLUB CITTA'. UNDER17 announced its breakup on September 27, 2004. Momoi Haruko and Koike Masaya said they were pursuing separate directions because of creative differences. The duo gave its final concert at Yokohama BLITZ on November 20, 2004. UNDER17 later reunited for a one-song performance at Animelo Summer Live on August 31, 2008. It reunited again in 2020 for 「ススメ★萌でんぱ少年!! 大復活祭2020!! ～過ぎさりし萌をもとめて～」.
