Theatre Brook is a Japanese funk rock band formed in Tokyo in 1986 around 佐藤タイジ. After several years of independent activity, the group released the mini-album "Theatre Brook" in 1988, then "非国民" in 1990 and the album "SENSEMILLA" in 1993.
The band made its major-label debut in 1995 on Epic Records Japan. 中條卓 joined as an official member that year. エマーソン北村 began supporting the band in 1996, and 沼澤尚 followed in 1997. Both became full members in 2005, establishing the four-member lineup of エマーソン北村, 中條卓, 沼澤尚, and 佐藤タイジ.
In 2007, the group announced a two-year hiatus, then resumed activity in 2009. It returned to Epic Records Japan in 2010 and released "Uragiri no Yuuyake (裏切りの夕焼け; Sunset of Betrayal)", the first opening theme of Durarara!!. Theatre Brook later marked the 20th anniversary of its major debut with the album "LOVE CHANGES THE WORLD" in 2015, and reached its 30th anniversary in 2016.
