Sonoko Inoue (井上苑子) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Kobe, Japan, born on December 11, 1997. Her songs sit at the intersection of J-pop and singer-songwriter writing, built on melodic pop arrangements, personal storytelling, and a warm, intimate delivery that keeps the focus on clear hooks and direct emotion.
As a solo artist signed to Universal Music Group, she has developed a profile around songs that feel immediate and relatable rather than oversized or abstract. Her visibility was reinforced by Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “Tenbyou no Uta feat. Sonoko Inoue,” which passed 900 million streams in January 2026 and later surpassed 1 billion streams in August 2026. In late 2025, she served as the personality for All Night Nippon X before a pause in singing activities and completed her final tour before that hiatus, and in 2026 she also took on a regular radio role in her hometown of Kobe as a Tuesday sound crew member on Kiss FM KOBE’s “BEAT IT.”
