Shion Tsuji

Shion Tsuji (辻詩音; born January 10, 1990, in Yokohama, Japan) is a Japanese singer-songwriter who debuted in 2008. She began writing poetry and lyrics in childhood. At 15, she started composing on guitar by setting music to words she had written at the age of six. After leaving high school in her first year to focus on music, she moved to Tokyo. There, she began arranging her own performances at live houses and performed in an acoustic guitar-and-vocals style. In autumn 2007, Tsuji self-produced music for a commemorative event attended by 200 people. That performance drew the attention of Sony Music. She then signed with DefSTAR Records and made her major debut on November 12, 2008 with the single "Candy kicks". In the same year, she won the 2nd レコ直♪新人杯. Her songs later reached anime audiences through "Sky Chord ~Otona ni Naru Kimi he~ (Sky chord~大人になる君へ~)", the ending theme of Bleach, "Ai ga Hoshii yo", the opening theme of Soul Eater, and "M/elody", the ending theme of Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. From 2011, she also appeared as an MC on Kumamoto Kenmin Television's music program ROCKET COMPLEX. Her segment, "すなっく しおんぬ", featured acoustic guitar covers of songs by other artists.
