Biography

Prague (プラハ) is a Japanese three-piece rock band formed in 2006. The group came together while all three members were attending the same music college, and that shared background helped shape the band’s tight, trio-based chemistry from the start. Built around guitar-driven rock and a compact lineup, Prague represents the kind of Japanese rock act whose identity comes from musicianship and live-band interplay as much as from studio recordings. In September 2009, Prague signed with Sony Music Japan’s Ki/oon Records and made its major-label debut. That step marked an important milestone in the band’s career, moving them from their early independent stage into a larger professional setting while keeping the core lineup intact. For fans looking into Japanese rock acts that emerged in the late 2000s, this major-label transition is one of the key facts associated with the group. The band members are Yuta Suzuki (鈴木 雄太) on vocals and guitar, Kensuke Ito (伊藤 賢佑) on drums, and Tsuguhito Konno (金野 倫仁) on bass. This lineup defines Prague’s sound as a three-piece, with each instrument carrying clear weight in the arrangement. Suzuki fronts the band while also handling guitar work, Ito provides the rhythmic backbone on drums, and Konno anchors the low end on bass. As a Japanese rock band formed in 2006, Prague stands out for its straightforward origin story and its progression from music college peers to a signed act under Ki/oon Records. The combination of an early formation date, a confirmed major-label debut in 2009, and a stable three-member roster gives the band a clear profile for listeners searching for Japanese rock groups, trio bands, or artists connected to Sony Music Japan’s Ki/oon Records.
