Naotarou Moriyama (森山直太朗)

Naotarou Moriyama (森山直太朗) is a Japanese singer-songwriter born in Tokyo on April 23, 1976. His music sits at the intersection of folk pop, J-pop, and singer-songwriter traditions, and his expressive vocal style and emotionally direct writing have become defining traits of his work. Across his solo career, Moriyama has been associated with melody-driven pop and acoustic-leaning ballads, often favoring intimate arrangements, clear phrasing, and songs built around everyday feeling, memory, and quiet observation. That balance of accessibility and emotional detail has made him a lasting name in contemporary Japanese music. He is also associated with Universal Music LLC and maintains an official presence through his website, naotaro.com. In 2026, as he entered his 24th year since debut, Moriyama drew attention again with the new song "愛々," which was presented as the theme song for the drama "田鎖ブラザーズ." Coverage around the release also highlighted his reflections on love, dependence, and the way people support one another, adding a current chapter to a career built on careful composition, strong melody, and a distinct personal voice.
