In Somali to Mori no Kamisama, a world inhabited by demons, cyclopes, and other fantastic beings has left humanity isolated and despised. After a long war nearly wipes out the human race, the few humans who remain are treated as prey, hunted for food and forced to live as outcasts.
The story begins when a golem, a wandering protector of nature, discovers a lone human child during one of his patrols. Moved by the girl's spirit, he takes in the child, Somali, and becomes her guardian. With no safe place to call home, the unlikely pair sets out across a dangerous land to search for Somali's parents and guide her back home.
Along the way, the series focuses on the quiet bond between a tireless guardian and a vulnerable child, as well as the fragile hope that survives in a world where humans have almost disappeared. Their journey becomes both an adventure and a refuge: a chance for Somali to see a world that fears her, and for the golem to learn what it means to care for one human life in a land built to erase them.
