Biography

LONG SHOT PARTY was a six-member Japanese rock band formed in Sendai in 1998. Built around an energetic live presence, the group became known for songs that blended rock intensity with pop melody, helping them stand out in the J-rock scene. During the early 2000s, LONG SHOT PARTY gained wider attention through several albums that highlighted the band’s accessible but driving sound. Their music combined catchy hooks, strong guitar work, and a straightforward energy that connected with listeners who enjoyed melodic Japanese rock. The band is especially remembered for "Shining Star," which was used as an opening theme for the anime series Kyou kara Maou!. That tie-in gave LONG SHOT PARTY additional visibility among anime fans and made the group a familiar name in anime music discussions. Although the band broke up in 2010, LONG SHOT PARTY left a lasting impact on fans and the Japanese music industry. Their mix of live energy, rock-and-pop sensibility, and anime association continues to define how they are remembered.
