Kumiko Noma

Kumiko Noma is a Japanese opera singer born in 2000, also credited as Kumiko Oguro (小黒久美子). In anime music, she is best known for performing "LILIUM," the OP of "Elfen Lied", a performance that brought her voice to a wider international audience. Noma works from a classical vocal approach rather than a pop-anime style. That background gives her performances a formal, dramatic quality, and on "LILIUM" it linked an operatic voice to an anime theme without losing its classical identity. Her profile is tied less to a large pop discography than to that contrast between opera and anime, and her career remains closely associated with "Elfen Lied".
