Koji Nakamura

Koji Nakamura (中村弘二, born September 28, 1977) is a Japanese musician from Towada, Aomori Prefecture. Active since 1995, he is best known as the lead singer and songwriter of SUPERCAR. He joined the band at its formation that year after meeting いしわたり淳治 in elementary school and later 田沢公大 in junior high school. SUPERCAR made its major-label debut in 1997 on Kioon Music, and Nakamura composed most of the band's songs until its breakup in 2005. Alongside his work with the band, Nakamura developed a solo career that moved between alternative rock and electronic styles. His projects included NYANTORA, which began in 2001, ended in 2006, and resumed in 2009, and iLL, which started in 2006. After SUPERCAR, he expanded into collaborative and soundtrack work. In 2011 he formed LAMA with フルカワミキ, 田渕ひさ子, and 牛尾憲輔, and in the same year he launched the label Sound of Romances. He formed MECABIOtH with 三嶋章義 in 2012 and composed the soundtrack for the television anime エウレカセブンAO under the name Nakamura Koji. From 2014, he also worked under the name Koji Nakamura. In 2016 he formed MUGAMICHILL with ナスノミツル and 中村達也. He began the ambient-focused event Hardcore Ambience in 2017 and opened its YouTube channel in 2019. Under his own name, he performed "closed eye sun (feat. Honoka Takahashi (たかはしほのか))", the ending theme of Gensou Suikoden.
