Biography

Kiyoshi Yoshida (吉田潔) is a Japanese composer, arranger, producer, and synthesizer operator from Yokohama, known for instrumental music that blends synthesizer textures with wadaiko in a distinctive, cinematic way. In 1985, Yoshida went to the United States to study contemporary and film music at Berklee College of Music, an experience that broadened his compositional approach and helped shape his later work in screen and commercial music. After returning to Japan in 1987, he began composing for a wide range of CM, TV and film projects, as well as new age soundtracks. His catalogue reflects a steady focus on atmosphere, rhythm, and precise arrangement, with a style that balances modern electronic sonorities and traditional Japanese percussion. That fusion of synth-driven sound design and wadaiko has become one of his defining signatures, making Kiyoshi Yoshida a notable name for listeners searching for Japanese composers linked to film, television, and commercial soundtrack work.
