Kasarinchu is a Japanese music duo from Kasari-chō, Ōshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture (now Amami), formed in 2005 by former junior high and high school classmates Tatsuhiro and Kosuke. Built around acoustic performance and vocal percussion, the group pairs Tatsuhiro on vocals and acoustic guitar with Kosuke on human beat box, vocals, and acoustic guitar. Their stripped-back format relies on close coordination, with acoustic guitar, beatboxed rhythm, and harmonized vocals carrying melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic roles in a minimal live setup. The name Kasarinchu means "people of Kasari."
After time in Tokyo following high school, both members returned to the island; the duo began after they sang together at a friend's wedding. Kasarinchu released two indie mini-albums before making its major debut in 2010 with the mini-album "感謝" on Epic Records Japan. The group continued to live on Amami Ōshima while maintaining other jobs, and Tatsuhiro left a sugar factory at the end of June 2013 to focus on music. Kasarinchu performed "High High High," the ending theme for "Usagi Drop," and "New World," the ending theme for "Uchuu Kyoudai." The duo placed its activities on hiatus in June 2019 as both members shifted their focus to solo work.
