Jodeci is an American R&B quartet formed in 1990 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before joining together as Jodeci, the members performed as two brother duos. The group is composed of DeVanté Swing, Mr. Dalvin, K-Ci, and JoJo, and its music blends contemporary R&B, hip hop soul, and new jack swing with close harmonies and a slow-jam approach.
In 1990, Jodeci signed with Uptown Records and began work on its debut album, Forever My Lady, released in 1991. The album brought the group mainstream success through the title track and the Billboard Hot 100 single "Come and Talk to Me." The group's music also reached anime audiences through "Freek'n You," the first ending theme of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.
