Jodeci is an American R&B quartet formed in 1990 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The group is made up of DeVanté Swing, Mr. Dalvin, K-Ci, and JoJo, and its music blends contemporary R&B, hip hop soul, and new jack swing with the harmonies and slow-jam feel that helped define its early identity. Before their breakthrough, the members were two separate brother duos who spent years trying to find the right path before joining forces as Jodeci.
In 1991, Jodeci signed with Uptown Records and began work on its debut album, Forever My Lady. The album brought the group mainstream success, led by the Billboard Hot 100 single "Come and Talk to Me" and the title track, and established Jodeci as a major R&B act of the 1990s. Its catalog also reached anime audiences through "Freek'n You," which serves as the first ending theme in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, linking the group's music to one of anime's most internationally visible franchises.
