Hiroyuki Oshima (大嶋啓之, born March 29, 1979) is a Japanese composer and arranger from Utsunomiya, Japan. He works across a wide range of genres with DTM, occasionally writes lyrics, and has been especially associated with easy listening, healing music, and ethnic music.
He began distributing his own work online by opening the website Perfect Vanity in December 1999 for self-produced MIDI and BMS pieces. In January 2001, he started releasing MP3 tracks through My-Melody (now muzie). His early independent albums were "Vanity Fair," issued in July 2001, and "Paradise Lost," issued in July 2003. He has also been a member of the doujin music circle Ninja Action Team since its formation in August 2001, acting as its de facto manager.
In anime music, Oshima composed and arranged "Why, or why not", the ED of "Higurashi". That release was credited to Hiroyuki Oshima feat. Rekka Katakiri, which was a project-specific collaboration with Rekka Katakiri (片霧烈火), a Tokyo-based Japanese J-pop artist born on December 8, rather than a permanent group name.
He later handled sound production for Voltage of Imagination's "ORBITAL MANEUVER" albums "geotaxis" (2005), "anemotaxis" (2006), and "phototaxis" (2006). He also worked on the concept albums "Yggdrasill Minstrelsy -The Eternal Skywalker-" and "Blue Canopy" in 2008. His later independent releases include "睡眠都市" in 2009 and "ハルモニア" in 2010. In 2020, he composed the full BGM for "天穂のサクナヒメ".
