Biography

Hiroshi Kitadani is a Japanese anison singer and vocalist from Susa, now part of Hagi in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Born on August 24, 1968, he entered the anime music scene with a career that has run from 1994 to the present, and he is associated with the label Lantis. He officially began his career in November 1994 as part of the trio STRAGGER. In July 1998, he released a solo album, and in November 1999 he made his debut as an anison singer with "We Are!", the opening theme for the One Piece anime. The song became a major milestone and established him as a recognizable voice in anime music. At the end of 1999, Kitadani joined the Lapis Lazuli band, and in August 2002 he became a regular member of JAM Project, the Japanese Animationsong Makers, where he remains active today. His work with JAM Project and his earlier solo career show the long arc of his activity as both a solo performer and a collaborative vocalist. Outside music, Hiroshi Kitadani is described as having an O-type blood group.
