Hiroshi Kitadani is a Japanese anison singer and vocalist whose career has run from 1994 to the present. Born as 北谷洋 in Susa city, now known as Hagi, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, he became known for anime song performances that helped define his place in the Japanese anime music scene.
He officially began his career in November 1994 as part of the trio STRAGGER. In July 1998, he released a solo album, and in November 1999 he made his debut as an anison singer with the opening theme "We Are!" for the One Piece anime. That song became a major milestone in his career and established him as a recognizable voice in anime music.
At the end of 1999, Kitadani joined the Lapis Lazuli band, and in August 2002 he became a regular member of JAM Project, the Japanese Animationsong Makers, where he remains active today. His work with JAM Project and his earlier solo career show the long arc of his activity as both a solo performer and a collaborative vocalist.
Outside music, Hiroshi Kitadani is described as having an O-type blood group. He also enjoys cooking and drinking, has baseball skills, and holds a hairdresser license, details that add to the profile of a versatile performer with a long-standing presence in anime-related music.
