Biography
Hideyuki Fukasawa (深澤秀行, born November 30, 1970) is a Japanese composer best known for video game music and for his long association with Capcom, alongside his freelance composing career. His work often balances cinematic atmosphere with intense action scoring, which has made him a recognizable name in fighting and action games.
He began his career with a minor role on Onimusha 2 as an assistant sound engineer and programmer to Taro Iwashiro, the acclaimed composer for that game. Later, his score for Chaos Legion helped establish him with cult status among video game fans and tied his name to Capcom’s darker, more theatrical action titles. In 2008, he composed and arranged music for Street Fighter IV, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, and updated versions of both games, with some tracks arranged from earlier entries. In 2012, he also served as lead composer for TYPE-MOON’s visual novel Mahoutsukai no Yoru, further showing his range across major Japanese game projects.
