Biography
edda (born December 13, 1992) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Fukuoka Prefecture. Active since 2017, she works in pop music and has released music through Victor Entertainment. She began playing guitar in the third grade and was a member of a brass band in middle school.
After moving to Tokyo in January 2017 to begin her artist career, she released the Fukuoka-only single "半魚人" on May 31. This was followed by the nationwide mini album 『さんかく扉のむこうがわ』 on July 19 and her major debut single "チクタク" on October 11. In 2018, she released the single "フラワーステップ", which was used as the theme song for 探偵が早すぎる, and her first major album 『からくり時計とタングの街』. In anime, she performed "無伴奏", the ending theme of Mahoutsukai no Yome. She later released the EP "CIRCUS" in 2021.
She adopted the name edda to reflect her interest in storytelling through music. She is affiliated with Horipro, and her official website is https://eddavilla.jp/. She also creates dioramas and illustrations and produces her own jacket artwork.
