Do As Infinity

Do As Infinity is a Japanese pop-rock band formed in 1999 and signed to Avex Trax. It debuted on September 29, 1999 with "Tangerine Dream." The group was built around the vocals of Tomiko Van, the guitar of Ryo Owatari, and the songwriting and guitar work of Dai Nagao. Its music combined melodic rock, polished pop hooks, and emotional balladry. By the end of 2000, Nagao had stepped away from front-member activities to focus on composition. The band continued its first run with Van and Owatari at the forefront. During that period, Do As Infinity released six studio albums, numerous singles, and several compilation releases. The group also reached anime audiences through tie-ins, including InuYasha. After the release of Do the A side, it disbanded on September 29, 2005. Do As Infinity reunited in 2008 without Nagao. It continued as a duo led by Van and Owatari, remaining active in both Japanese pop-rock and anime-related work.
