Chata (茶太), born November 21, 1979, is a Japanese singer and J-pop vocalist. Active since around 1998, she first contributed lyrics to a Niftyserve forum for original MIDI songs, then went on to work mainly as a vocalist in doujin and indie music. Her work spans anime and video game theme songs, commercial releases, and Japan’s independent doujin music scene.
In 2003, she released her first self-produced CD, "-+誓い+-". She made her major debut in 2007 and has also been associated with the label Lantis.
Alongside her commercial work, Chata has participated in various doujin music circles and runs her own private circle, Usagi Kinoko. She has also worked as a main vocalist for the doujin circles idea, my sound life, and HUMMING LIFE, and joined solfa on July 1, 2018. Among her anime credits, she performed "Dango Daikazoku," the ED of "Clannad".
