BECCA

BECCA is the stage name of Rebecca Emily Hollcraft (born May 9, 1989), an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Portland. Active since 2000, she has built much of her career in Japan since the mid-2000s, where she became associated with the country's English-language pop-rock scene after signing with Sony Music Entertainment Japan. She began singing at the age of two and later took part in choirs; at ten she started playing guitar and writing songs after hearing THE TUESDAYS. In 2003, after Meredith Brooks heard a recording of her singing, Hollcraft moved to LA at 14 and began writing songs with Brooks. Her work centers on pop and rock, with melodic arrangements, clear hooks, and expressive vocals. She signed with Sony Music Entertainment Japan in 2007 and made her major debut in Japan in 2008, the same year she performed at SUMMER SONIC 2008 in both Tokyo and Osaka. In 2009 she joined BENNIE K's BK Project and released the single "Dreamer" as BENNIE BECCA, and in 2010 she appeared on the Vans Warped Tour across the United States and Canada. From 2011 to 2015 she sang in Stars in Stereo under the name Hollcraft. Since 2015, her projects have included Blackhaven, Wholecraft, and ContracultCollective. She also performed "I'm ALIVE!", the ending theme for Kuroshitsuji. Her official website is http://beccachan.com/.
