BABYMETAL

BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii metal group formed on 2010-11-28 in Tokyo. Produced by KOBAMETAL, it began as a さくら学院 subunit built around Suzuka Nakamoto, with Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi as the original trio; Momoko Okazaki later joined the lineup. Emerging from Japan's idol scene, the group combined heavy metal riffs with J-pop melodies and precise choreography. Songs such as "Gimme Chocolate!!" and "Road of Resistance" brought early attention to that blend of bright pop sensibility and heavy instrumentation, as well as the group's high-energy performances and production. Released through Toy's Factory, BABYMETAL has also collaborated with DragonForce, Bring Me the Horizon, and Judas Priest's Rob Halford. In anime, BABYMETAL performed "Kasukana Hana (かすかなはな)," the opening theme for "Jigokuraku".
