azusa

azusa is a Japanese pop singer born on December 4, 1988, whose music is closely tied to anime theme songs and the wider anison scene. Associated with Giza Studio, she is best known to many anime fans through songs such as "Kimi no Mama de," one of the most recognizable entry points into her catalog. Her sound centers on melodic J-pop, gentle but expressive vocals, and arrangements that support the emotional tone of anime without overpowering it. Across her songs, azusa favors clear melodies and a soft, story-driven approach that fits opening and ending themes aimed at character emotion rather than spectacle. That balance has helped her stand out for listeners looking for sincere anime music. In 2025, she returned to perform at an Amagami SS 15th anniversary event, reinforcing her ongoing connection to anime music and to one of the series that helped define her visibility.
