Yowamushi Pedal

Yowamushi Pedal follows Sakamichi Onoda, an earnest otaku whose ordinary city bike hides a surprising gift for climbing steep hills. When competitive cyclists notice his uphill power, he is pulled into road racing and ends up at Sohoku High, where training, teamwork, and the grind of daily practice begin to shape his life as much as any classroom routine. Across the franchise, Onoda and his teammates push through fierce rivalries with riders from other schools, taking on high-stakes road races and the Inter-High as they try to prove they belong on the national stage. Every climb, sprint, and handoff demands speed, strategy, stamina, and the nerve to keep moving when the race turns brutal. Each matchup becomes a test of character as much as a contest of legs, and the pressure of competition steadily pushes Onoda to grow into a rider his teammates can trust. The series also stands out for the bond between riders who chase the same goal from different backgrounds. Their rivalries are intense, but the story is equally driven by camaraderie, personal ambition, and the stubborn refusal to give up whenever the road gets steep.
