Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii centers on a group of working adults whose office routines are inseparable from the hobbies they usually try to keep private. On her first day at a new job, Narumi Momose is determined to hide that she is both an otaku and a fujoshi, but the plan falls apart as soon as she runs into Hirotaka Nifuji, a middle school friend who knows her well enough to see through every attempt at secrecy. When Narumi invites him out for drinks after work, Hirotaka casually mentions the upcoming Summer Comiket and blows her cover in front of Hanako Koyanagi and Tarou Kabakura. The humiliation does not last long: the only witnesses are otaku too, and the awkward reunion becomes the start of a shared circle built around work, friendship, and fandom. Over drinks that night, Narumi and Hirotaka catch up after years apart, and Narumi admits that a previous boyfriend broke up with her because he refused to date a fujoshi. Hirotaka answers with practical sincerity, suggesting that she date another otaku instead—specifically him. He promises to always be there for her, to support her, and to help her farm rare drops in Monster Hunter, and Narumi accepts immediately. From there, the series follows their adorably awkward romance alongside the sharper, more established relationship between Hanako and Kabakura, finding comedy in shared interests, blunt honesty, and the everyday chaos of adult otaku life.
