Witch Craft Works centers on Honoka Takamiya, an ordinary student at Tougetsu High School who wants nothing more than a quiet life. Every morning he takes the same bus as Ayaka Kagari, the school’s untouchable “Princess,” and sits beside her in class, even though she is surrounded by admirers and keeps her distance from everyone around her.
That routine shatters when Honoka is attacked by a mysterious witch and Ayaka steps in to save him. She reveals that she is a fire witch who has been protecting him in secret, and from that moment Honoka is pulled into the hidden war between the Workshop Witches, who protect ordinary citizens, and the Tower Witches, who seek to steal the power concealed within him. The world he thought was ordinary is suddenly full of magic hiding in plain sight, and every day at Tougetsu High School becomes a battlefield waiting to erupt.
As the conflict deepens, Honoka must learn to survive in a world he never knew existed, while Ayaka’s fierce devotion makes her both his shield and his most important ally. Together they are forced into battles that reveal how much danger has been waiting beneath Tougetsu’s calm surface.
