Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! follows Hana Uzaki, an energetic college freshman who reconnects with Shinichi Sakurai, a quiet upperclassman from her high school club days. To Hana’s surprise, the once lively senior has turned into a reserved student who would rather spend his free time alone.
Determined to pull him out of his shell, Hana keeps finding ways to join his routine, whether that means dragging him to the movies or showing up at his part-time workplace. Sakurai sees Uzaki as loud, meddlesome, and exhausting, but he still ends up going along with her antics, even when he knows her perky personality will only lead them into another awkward comedy of errors.
Across the series, their constant teasing and stubborn back-and-forth slowly turn into something warmer and harder to ignore. The people around them increasingly misread their closeness as that of a couple, while the two of them continue pretending that everything is just another day of harmless banter. Built on everyday college life, the franchise blends deadpan reactions, playful embarrassment, and cute chaos into a light romantic comedy about companionship, irritation, and the strange way persistence can grow into genuine affection.
