In Un-Go, a near-future Tokyo is a city where murder, deception, and public unrest expose far more than ordinary criminal motives. At its center stands Shinjuurou Yuuki, the so-called "Defeated Detective"—a sharp observer who trusts patient deduction to uncover the truth behind unusual crimes and homicides. Each investigation draws him deeper into a society held together by appearances, secrets, and fear, where the wrong answer can be as dangerous as the crime itself.
Shinjuurou works alongside the enigmatic Inga, a partner whose unsettling methods constantly clash with his calm, reasoned approach. Their uneasy partnership gives every case an air of mistrust, yet it also makes them effective at exposing hidden identities and the motives people try to bury. As Un-Go unfolds, the mystery is not limited to who committed each crime; it also asks what justice means when truth can be manipulated and revenge can look a lot like righteousness.
