In The New Gate, Shinya "Shin" Kiritani brings a deadly virtual reality game’s long crisis to an end by defeating the final boss, Origin, and expecting to log out at last. Instead, he is cast into a new reality that mirrors the world he once knew, except five hundred years have passed since the game’s end. His skills remain intact, the game interface still answers him, and every sign points to a world that should not exist in the form now spread before him.
Cut off from the real world and with no obvious way to return, Shin begins searching for a path through this unfamiliar era. That search leads him to Tiera Lucent, a hotel receptionist who is also a protégé of Schnee Raizar, one of Shin’s former party members. Through Tiera, Shin gains a thread to follow as he tries to reunite with Schnee and uncover the truth behind The New Gate itself, while learning why he was sent here and what this future world is hiding. Mixing fantasy adventure with game-world mechanics, the series follows Shin through a land shaped by old victories, lingering bonds, and unanswered questions that only deepen as he moves forward.
