Summertime Render

Summer Time Rendering opens when Shinpei Ajiro returns to Hitogashima, the small island where he grew up with the Kofune sisters, Mio and Ushio, after years away in Tokyo. Since losing his parents, he has lived with their family, but his homecoming turns tragic when Ushio dies while trying to save a little girl. At the funeral, Shinpei learns that bruises were found around her neck, and what first looks like a drowning quickly begins to feel like something far more suspicious. As fear spreads through the island, people start disappearing and familiar faces grow harder to trust. Mio remembers an old folktale about “Shadows,” entities said to appear before a person’s death, and Shinpei is forced to consider that the legend may be real. The deeper he follows the mystery, the more Hitogashima’s quiet surface gives way to a deadly nightmare, where every answer brings new danger. With Ushio’s final wish in mind, Shinpei must protect Mio and uncover the truth behind the darkness swallowing the island.
