For years, the club has pushed toward that impossible target, but money, time, and manpower keep the project stuck on the edge of failure. Kaito Yashio, the club's only other member, would rather lose himself in mecha-fighting games on his PokeCom than help his childhood friend turn the club's plans into reality, even as Akiho keeps dragging him back to the workshop and the slow, stubborn work of building something bigger than themselves. When Kaito begins hearing a voice buried beneath static and receives an indecipherable message, his search leads him to Airi Yukifune, an AI that exists only inside the augmented-reality system accessible through the PokeCom. What starts as a strange encounter soon opens into a larger mystery centered on Airi's database and a report that could have disastrous consequences in the future.
