Non Non Biyori

Non Non Biyori follows Hotaru Ichijou, whose life changes completely when she leaves Tokyo and moves with her family to the isolated village of Asahigaoka. At her new school, only five students share a single classroom regardless of grade level, and even the simplest conveniences are far away, with a bus sometimes taking up to two hours to arrive. The slow rhythm of the countryside contrasts sharply with the city life Hotaru has left behind, yet it also reveals a small community with its own warmth and charm. The people who make Asahigaoka feel alive are the four schoolmates Hotaru quickly grows close to. Renge Miyauchi, a first-grader, often seems perceptive beyond her age, while the three Koshigaya siblings each bring a distinct presence to the group: Suguru, the quiet oldest brother; Komari, the petite older sister; and Natsumi, the prankish youngest sister. As Hotaru brings a fresh perspective from Tokyo and settles into everyday rural life, their ordinary days together become brighter, more playful, and more meaningful.
