Mob Psycho 100 follows Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama, an unassuming eighth-grader whose psychic power is so overwhelming that he works hard to keep it buried. He wants nothing more than an ordinary life and, at first, mainly uses his abilities to try to impress his longtime crush, Tsubomi, even if his usual tricks no longer surprise her. To gain better control over his power, Mob begins working under Arataka Reigen, a self-proclaimed psychic and con artist who casually turns his talents into cheap exorcisms and everyday jobs.
What begins as a quiet routine soon becomes a tense balancing act between school life, spirit work, and Mob's own emotions. The more pressure he carries, the closer he comes to losing control, and the psychic energy he suppresses can build toward a catastrophic outburst that would leave him completely unrecognizable. Across the franchise, Mob's struggle is not just about defeating evil spirits, but about learning how to live honestly, protect the people around him, and face the force inside himself before it erupts.
