Megalo Box

Megalo Box is a TV sports drama set in a near-future world where boxing has evolved into Megalo Box, a brutal version of the sport in which mechanical Gear amplifies a fighter's speed and power. At the center is Junk Dog, an underground boxer trapped in fixed matches under his boss Gansaku Nanbu, fighting for a living without any real path forward until a defeat at the hands of reigning champion Yuri gives him a reason to aim higher and take control of his own fate. Renaming himself Joe, he enters the Megalonia tournament, a high-stakes competition designed to determine the strongest Megalo Boxer. As Joe climbs through the bracket, the story follows his rise through a harsh, class-divided sporting world where skill alone is never enough and every victory carries a cost. The franchise then revisits these characters after that initial climb, widening the consequences of ambition, rivalry, and survival while keeping the focus on the people shaped by the ring rather than on spoiler-heavy retellings of later events.
