Love Stage!! follows Izumi Sena, the son of an actress mother, a producer father, and a rockstar brother, in a household where show business is impossible to avoid. Even so, Izumi dreams of becoming a manga artist and has little interest in the spotlight, despite having once appeared as a child in a commercial for a wedding magazine.
Ten years later, that same magazine invites the original child actors back for a 10th anniversary ad, and Izumi is reunited with Ryouma Ichijou, who has become a popular actor. Ryouma surprises Izumi by admitting that he has been in love with him since their first meeting, even though he has always believed Izumi was a girl because of his feminine appearance and unisex name. When the misunderstanding is revealed, Izumi is pulled into an awkward and increasingly complicated relationship he never asked for, caught between embarrassment, the demands of public image, and feelings that are harder to ignore than he expected. As the two are pushed closer together, Izumi has to navigate celebrity expectations, old misunderstandings, and the possibility that Ryouma's feelings may be more serious than he can dismiss.
