Kotoura-san

Kotoura-san follows Haruka Kotoura, a high school girl burdened by the ability to read other people's minds. That gift leaves her unable to escape the cruel, frightened, or embarrassed thoughts of the people around her, and over time it turns her childhood into a lonely stretch of rejection, distance, and misunderstanding. Even her family life is strained by the pressure of living with a power she never asked for, leaving her grandfather as the one person she can still rely on. When Haruka transfers to a new school, she expects the same hostility she has always known. Instead, she meets Yoshihisa Manabe, a boy whose curiosity about her ability grows into genuine concern. Through him, she is gradually drawn into a small circle of classmates and the school's ESP club, where the series mixes awkward comedy with quieter emotional beats. Kotoura-san uses that balance to follow Haruka's slow return to trust: the embarrassment of being seen too clearly, the relief of being accepted, and the fragile hope that ordinary teenage life might finally be within reach.
