Komi-san wa, Komyushou desu

Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. centers on Hitohito Tadano, an unremarkable high school student who only wants to get through his first day quietly. That plan collapses when he is seated beside Shouko Komi, the school’s admired "madonna," whose beauty and calm presence make her seem distant and untouchable. Beneath that image, however, Komi is overwhelmed by severe anxiety and a communication disorder that makes ordinary conversation almost impossible. A brief exchange on the blackboard gives Tadano a rare glimpse of her real struggle, and he becomes the first person to understand what she is going through. From that moment on, he helps her bridge the distance between herself and the rest of the class. As their friendship deepens, Komi sets an ambitious goal: to make one hundred friends before graduation. Across the franchise, the story follows her awkward but sincere attempts to connect with classmates, handle the pressures of school life, and open up little by little with Tadano at her side, turning everyday moments into a gentle comedy about empathy, patience, and the quiet triumphs of being understood.
