Kikaijikake no Marie

Mechanical Marie follows Arthur Louis Zetes, a wealthy, handsome, and exceptionally successful young man who has grown so disgusted by human greed that he trusts almost no one around him. Convinced that only a flawless maid can satisfy his exacting standards, he asks his butler for a robot servant, only to learn that the technology does not yet exist. Instead, the butler brings him Marie Evans, a former martial arts prodigy with an expressionless face and crushing debt, who accepts a desperate bargain: she will work as a maid and behave like a robot so long as her true nature remains hidden. Forced to meet Arthur's impossible expectations, Marie keeps her composure while cleaning, serving, and adapting to a household built on rigid routine. Arthur is blunt and distant with everyone else, but he finds himself increasingly doting on his personal “robot,” and Marie is slowly moved by his discipline and unexpected consideration. What begins as an unusual business arrangement gradually becomes a tender daily bond, with trust, routine, and quiet gestures reshaping both of their lives.
